Noty
Notes and simple todos — write fast, tick things off, swipe away what's done.
Planned
Not built yet. Noty is the first app after the demo: small enough to ship quickly, and it keeps the keyboard on screen almost all the time.
One list of notes, and any note can turn into a checklist. No folders, no tags, no sync settings: open the app, type, close it. What’s left to test is the part every app gets wrong at some point, writing with the keyboard up.
Why this app
A notes app spends most of its life with the keyboard open. Noty checks that the system handles that without special cases in the app:
- The editor is a TextArea that grows with its content and keeps the caret above the keyboard.
- A todo is a line with a Checkbox. Return adds the next one, backspace on an empty one removes it.
- Swipe on a note archives or deletes it, and the delete stays undoable.
- Search filters the list as you type, from a SearchBar at the top.
Screens
| Screen | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Notes | The list, a search field, a floating button to start a note. |
| Note | Title and body, full screen, the keyboard up from the first frame. |
| Todo | A checklist: done items struck through and moved to the bottom. |
Built with
- TextArea and Input for the editor.
- Item and Checkbox for notes and todos.
- SearchBar and Empty for the list and its empty state.
- FloatingButton to start a note.
- useSwipeActions and undoable action for archive and delete.
What it checks
- The caret never ends up behind the keyboard, on any screen size.
- Checking a todo is one tap, with no delay and no layout jump.
- Deleting a note by mistake takes one tap to undo.
